Do we need to fear the coming Judgement?

Do genuine Yahweh believers need to fear the coming Judgment?

The New Testament says that Yahweh believers do come into judgment, see Rom 14:11-12; 2 cor 5:10.

However, they do not come into judgement for condemnation [Romans 8:1] but for vindication [acquittal, clearance defense, justification].judgement-day

NOTE: An acquittal removes all guilt in law, and that is “Good News!”

The scrolls will be opened. All the things that have been done will be revealed. But if you are “in Yahshua” you are free!

Daniel 7:21-22 says that a judgment was made “IN FAVOUR” OF THE SAINTS. So we need not fear the judgment. It is for our vindication. John says that we can have boldness in the day of judgment. See 1 John 4:17.

In John 5:22-24, compare the NKJV with the NIV and you will see that Yahweh believers do not come into judgment in the sense that they do not receive death and condemnation, they have passed from death to life, and that’s fantastic news!

When the High Priest went within the veil on the Day of Atonement, he ministered the atoning blood immediately. In the same way, when Yahshua entered the presence of Yahweh with his blood (Col. 3:1; Heb. 1:3; 8:1; 12:2), atonement had been made, once and for all!

Yahshua did not take his blood in to make atonement; he took his blood in as a sign that atonement had been made. He went in ‘having obtained eternal redemption.’ ‘He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption’ (Heb. 9:12 NIV. See also RSV).

Many Yahweh believers still believe they have a sin problem that they need to fix up.  Well if that’s true, then Yahshua’s birth, life and death was not enough to completely atone for mankind.  That means that Yahshua’s sacrifice was insufficient to save us.

But the truth is, Yahshua completely took care of the sin problem!

There is no more sin problem for the children of Yahweh.

Hebrews 9:26 – He did away with sin on the Cross
Hebrews 9:28 – He took away the sin of the world at the Cross
Colossians 2:13 – He forgave all sins on the Cross – past present and future
Hebrews 1:3 – Yahweh cleansed all sins on the Cross
2 Cor 5:19 – Yahweh no longer counts the world’s sins against them
Hebrews 10:17-18 – Yahweh has forgiven all sins and forgotten them.
Micah 7:19 – Yahweh has thrown all our sins into the depths of the sea.

Hence, John said, “Behold the Lamb of Yahweh who takes away the SIN of the world”, John 1:29. Notice SIN is singular, not plural!  Yahshua took away sin completely at Calvary, it’s done, it’s complete, IT IS FINISHED, John 19:30

People won’t be lost because of a sin problem because Yahshua fixed that 2000 years ago, but they will be lost because they rejected Yahshua and hated the love of the truth, 2 Thess 2:10.   And Hebrews 9:22 says that there can be no forgiveness unless it’s through the blood of Yahshua. So no amount of begging and works can get you forgiven, only faith in Yahshua’ blood can forgive you.

Being saved is like a contract between Father Yahweh and us, stamped with the blood of Yahshua and sealed with Yahweh’s Spirit.

Once a person is saved, a legal contract is drawn up in heaven between us and the Father, stamped with the blood of Yahshua. Now no one can tear that contract up. No angel, Satan or anyone else.

It is a binding contract between the sinner and Father Yahweh. Not even Yahweh can tear it up! That’s right, not even Yahweh, and Yahweh will never give up on you, you would need to give up on Him. Only the saved sinner can tear the contract up.

It’s a legal contract, likened to a marriage ceremony. And water baptism is an extension of this.

And a person cannot be lost without realising it. Just as if you were married, you would not wake up one morning and be divorced without knowing about it.

And in the Jewish court system, unlike the English court system we use today, there was only ever 3 people in the court. The accused, accuser and Judge who was also the representative or advocate of the accused.

So if we compare this with the heavenly court, we would have the accused [You], the accuser [Satan] and the solicitor/representative/advocate and Judge of the accused [Yahshua].

And the Good News is that those who are “in Yahshua” will not be condemned.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Messiah Yahshua, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

And the exact opposite legal term for condemnation is justification.

And we are freely justified [As if I had never sinned] through faith in Father Yahweh and Messiah Yahshua.

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with Yahweh through Yahshua Messiah.

So having Yahshua as our Judge and Advocate is GOOD NEWS as we can’t lose the court case and have passed through the judgment in the sense that we are declared not guilty, freed from blame.

NKJV John 5:22 “For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,

NKJV John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”

The NASB says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

The New Living Translation puts it this way: “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in Yahweh who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.”

The Amplified Bible, “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life.”

This contract aspect gives a Yahweh follower wonderful assurance in Yahshua Messiah.

Shalom,
